This oil painting shows a woman seated under a tree and overlooking a village and notably a church and bell tower (clocher). The colors have gentle pastel hues, reminiscent of a summer day. The painting is signed C. Burges. This canvas is nailed to its wooden frame, but as an atelier piece, it still has rough edges.
