Ortegocactus macdougalii CRUST This is a critically endangeredOrtegocactus is a monotypic genus consisting of only this very unusually green cactus from the limestone soils of Oaxaca. The color is likely a result of evolution favoring plants that blend in with the local lichens, helping the plants evade predation by birds and rodents. Water sparingly during the winter.
