Vieille Julienne, Chateauneuf Du Pape Reserve other_regions_italy boysenberry

boysenberry

cedar and sweet pipe tobacco gradually open up in a wine that is more giving on the palate than it is in its aromatics

The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a little brine on the entry

the alcohol and ripeness levels are kept on a leash so that the terroir shines through

Lush and plush velvety tannins unfold to a refined and almost powdery texture

Vieille Julienne, Chateauneuf Du Pape Reserve other_regions_italy boysenberryDeep in color, the nose blasts off with lavender, cherry, spice, pepper and earthy scents. When the wine hits the palate, the wine is deep, rich, concentrated and packed with sweet, silky, black raspberries, cherry and kirsch that remains on your palate and expands in flavor. This bottle was popped and poured. Perhaps, if the wine and I both had more time together, this could hit triple digits. It's truly a stunning example of old vine Grenache.
