Japanese Ceramic Green Tea Bowl Matcha Chawan Vtg Shino Ware Pink Brown CHB148 handai This is an unworn pairVtg Japanese Ceramic Green Tea Bowl This is a vintage Japanese ceramic green tea bowl or matcha chawan. This piece is a perfect example of pink Shino ware. A rich terracotta brown base with a white pocked layer over the top that allows the pinkish brown to peek through. It has a thicker glaze on the inside, which makes it white with pockmarks and crackle. Green tea bowls are traditionally used for preparing and drinking green tea during tea ceremonies
