Victorian Gold Gilt Seal with Carnelian Intaglio of a Running Hound Dog feed-agegroup-adult are among the most ancientA wonderfully characterful Victorian seal, set with a rich carnelian intaglio carved with a running hound in full stride and grass in the background. The engraving captures that unmistakable sense of movement, a hound mid chase. This is a motif long associated with loyalty, speed, and the traditions of the hunt. Rather than depicting a specific breed, it reflects the Victorian fascination with sporting life and the romance of the countryside.
