and the slightly rough condition of the back bears a mention

Fine Antique French Opera Lorgnette in Tortoise Shell with Seed Pearl Monogram and Crown oak frame It's rare enough to findElegant elongated handle lorgnette, opera glasses or reading glasses, this one has a crown monogram filled with seed pearls and is just gorgeous. The crown is that of a Viscount, though we do not have an ID of the person for whom it was originally made, the monogram is a bit tough to decipher. I can make it out as CcP, however. Not certain if I'm right. Napoleon III era, c. 1850 70s, give or take. Full measurements noted on the photos. Good to very
