The Civic Type R has a long history of showing off the maximum potential that Honda can achieve on its Civic platform

The silicone coupling mates directly to the aluminum turbo adapter and the Takeda air intake tube

The ring gear teeth are integrated onto the flywheel unlike an aluminum flywheel where the ring gear is pressed onto the flywheel and has the possibility of separating from the flywheel due to the different expansion coefficients of aluminum and steel

Also included is an X-pipe balance tube which equalizes and evenly distributes exhaust pulses for increased flow and minimizing exhaust drone

All of this combined generates gains of 5
