The chestnut brown hair is tightly woven into plaits that are round and hollow and approximately

later some sedate coloration such as cobalt blue could be worn

It has been hand colored in watercolor and framed in a much later frame and nicely matted

This one is a painting on wafer only 1 5 8" x 1 3 8" oval. It might well be the only image ever made of this charming woman, so stylish in her time. Unusual to have the sealed backside fully intact as in this one, and the framer's still attached in full. We do not have her Identity, but putting her in her era based on fashion and hair is simple, as she is c. 1750 70s Louis XV
